Save the date for the 7th ANISE which is happening from Sept 11th-13th, 2023 in South Africa.


The African Network for Influenza Surveillance and Epidemiology (ANISE) is a collaborative group of laboratory experts, epidemiologists, public health authorities, medical practitioners, veterinarians, scientists, and policymakers. Their collective mission is to enhance the surveillance and research related to influenza and similar respiratory viruses in Africa. ANISE was established in 2009 and currently boasts over 260 members hailing from over 30 countries. These dedicated individuals are focused on enhancing the identification, treatment, prevention, and management of influenza and other respiratory diseases.

The 7th ANISE meeting is scheduled for September 11-13, 2023 and will be hosted in Johannesburg, South Africa by the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) of South Africa in collaboration with U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The meeting will be followed by the Africa National Influenza Centres (NIC) meeting which will run from the 13 – 15 September 2023.
